If the thought of having a root canal causes you anxiety, we have several Sedation Dentistry options for you to consider.
Saving your natural teeth is our first priority, but there are times when Root Canal Treatment is not the best treatment option. In cases where removing the tooth is the next step, we will discuss your long term options for replacing the missing teeth, such as Dental Implants.
To many people, the thought of a Root Canal is a scary procedure. Good news, it is not as scary as it sounds! When you visit Concept Dentistry for Root Canal Therapy, we first take an x-ray to assess the shape of your tooth’s root. If we ascertain that the root is inflamed and the pulp has been damaged, we then need to proceed with the Root Canal Procedure.
First, a local anesthetic is given. For those who suffer dental anxiety and fear, we offer Sedation Dentistry options so you can get the procedure you need. We then make an opening in the tooth. The pulp is then removed, and the Root Canal is disinfected, filled and sealed. We use a temporary filling to seal the tooth opening, and your Root Canal procedure is complete.
A lot of press has been given to how painful this procedure is, in fact, our Dental Team experiences quite the opposite. The relief that our patients feel to no longer be in pain is very gratifying!
After your procedure, your teeth may be a bit more sensitive than normal as well you will have to be aware that you may still have some ongoing pain or infection until the inflammation decreases. If you suffer continued pain, we ask that you call us at any time after your procedure. Our Dental Team is here to help!
